My newly acquired stamps during the past month.
32 copies of the blue green two salung Agriculture stamp. Perforation 13.5 and issue date around 1885. Sold on eBay for $84.
After soaking off lots of backing paper and screening out the defective stamps. I have 23 stamps left. I put 5 of them in my collection, see below.
Revenue stamps sold during the past month. (not my stamps).
Documentary War relief stamp, 1942, value 5 baht. Sold on eBay for $12.
This is the highest value in the set, the size is very large, and the stamp is quite scarce.
A large block on paper of 40 Court and Land Fee stamps, value 500 baht each, used in 1983. Sold on eBay for $22.
The stamps seem to be the highest value of the Thomas De La Rue series, printed in 1969. 40 stamps of baht 500 represents a tax of baht 20,000, a very high amount. Large blocks of these high value Court and Land Fee stamps are quite common.
Court and Land Fee stamps were no longer used starting 1984
Thailand Revenue Stamp Catalog Edition 2025.
Chapter 2b - Court and Land Fee Stamps Chapter Posted.
Chapter 2b- Court and Land Fee stamps is posted om my website, under Thailand Revenue Stamp Catalog. This chapter is 22 pages, and I tried to put pictures for every stamp in the listing. You can also access the chapter by clicking HERE.
This chapter does replace the 2019 edition chapter. My work is 2 years behind planned schedule because I was struggling to learn to use Microsoft Word.
I would like to get feedback on how you view the looks of Chapter 2. Now with my first chapter finally done, I plan to finish the 2025 edition by middle of this year,

Then click on Documentary stamps, Standing Nurse & Standing Buddha.
Most of the gutter blocks of the Standing Nurse stamps are unique. They come from the Thomas De La Rue archives

The past 25 years in Thailand revenue collecting, part 5.
The Social Security revenue stamps, surcharged for Match Tax.
The Social Security stamps printed in 1955 by the American Bank Note Company were never issued because the program was cancelled. However, in the early 1960's, these stamps were surcharged to 50 satang under the KSS charity program, to be used as Match tax stamps. The 50 satang on 30 baht orange was thought never to be overprinted and was never seen. Of the 50 satang on 5 baht red only 2 copies were known.
Around 2012, 4 stamps of the orange 50 satang on 30 baht came on the market all at the same time. I sold 2 of the copies for $350 each around 2018.
Discoveries of new Thailand revenue stamps continues till today.

My newly acquired stamps during the past month.
American Consular Service Fee stamp $2. used in Siam in 1920. Bought on eBay for $2.
These US Service revenue stamps are very difficult to find with a readable country/ city name. Most have pen cancellations or only have a date stamp.

Nice block of the 1944 Trengganu 1 cent, used during the Thai occupation of Northern Malaya. Sold on eBay for $64.
Entertainment stamp 25 satang of the second issue 1947.
sold on eBay for $61.
Like I mentioned in my November Blog, these entertainment stamps sold 25 years ago for $1 per stamp.
Nowadays they are difficult to find.
Provisional General revenues overprinted on 1928 King Rama 7 postal stamps. In spite of the 10 baht stamp damaged, sold on eBay for $184.
The high baht value stamps in this set are very rare, I also do not have the 20 and 40 baht in my collection.
Entertainment revenues printed by Thomas De La Rue on 2 partial movie tickets and loose stamps. Sold on eBay for $26.
Th stamps on the movie tickets are placed wrongly. They are supposed to be torn upon entering the cinema in order to prevent re-use of the stamps.
Alien registration provisional revenue 1952.
20 baht surcharged on a 1 Satang value 1935 Waterlow printed Court Fee stamp. sold on eBay for $22.
Auction 68, held in Bangkok Nov 30 - Dec 1, 2024.
This auction contains 40 revenue lots. All lots, with achieved results can be viewed at www.Eurseree.com Just go to "auction catalog". If the Auction 68 is no longer listed, look under "past auctions". Below some of the highlights of this Auction. My conclusion is that the stamp market for Thailand revenues is still as strong or even stronger as ever.
Sold for Baht 6800 or $200 (including commission).
Sold for baht 53,900 or $1,560 (including commission). This is a very good result for this set.
Sold for baht 97,000 or $ 2,800 (including commission). This is a very high price for his set.
Sold for baht 51,000 or $1,470 (including commission). This lot contains the very rare 1 chang stamp with purple surcharge. Only 2 stamps are known to exist. Was wrongly described in the auction catalog as the 1 chang with black overprint of which about 50 copies exist.
Sold for baht 11,500 or $ 335 (including commission).
Update of my Thai Revenue Catalog to Edition 2025
I finally collected the energy to start updating the posted Thailand Revenue Stamp Catalog edition 2019 to edition 2025. The first chapter I am doing is the Court Fee stamps.
I try to put for each listed stamp a picture, which will make identification easier. I am adding newly discovered stamps not listed in the 2019 edition. I added some more text for explanation and correct for newly gained knowledge. Last but not least, I am increasing the font sizes from 8 to a minimum 12. This will make it easier to read. I expect the Court Fee chapter to finish end of this year, after which I will post it in my catalog. For your viewing pleasure or comments, I post below here 1 page.
The past 25 years in Thailand revenue collecting, part 4.
The second series of the Beast of Burden revenues, red color 25 satang stamp.
25 years ago, the red color stamp was known to exist from a Royal Gazette announcement. However, no collector had ever seen a copy. Then, around 2010 suddenly 2 copies came on the eBay and were sold for $125 each.
Then around 2021, suddenly several more copies came on the market, and I bought my copy for $75. At this moment in 2025, copies continue to come on the market and now the price dropped to around $23.

Below is my Blogpost from November, 2024.
My newly acquired stamps during the past month.
Notice to take legal action, from Padang Serai Kedah Malaya, issued on May 22, 1944. This was during the Thai Occupation of Northern Malaya. The 8 cents stamp used is a postal occupation stamp. Kedah and Perlis were the only occupied state not having occupation revenue stamps till early June 1944.
So the document is a very late usage of postal stamps as revenue.
Purchased on eBay for $200.
Forgeries of the 1907 postal surcharges on high denomination Court Fee revenues.
Purchased on eBay for $2. Listed as forgeries.
Like mentioned in my October 2024 Blog post, these stamps sell if genuine for $4500.
Look quite real when posted on eBay and easy to fool unsuspected buyers. Be aware!
Purchased to look for the differences with the real stamps.
The stamps are not marked as fake, violation eBay policy.
The paper on the back is white and is thicker than the paper of the real stamps.
These fakes have no gum while the real stamps were issued with gum.
Fake stamps have perforation 13.75 while the real stamps are perforation 13.5.
The real stamps have solid green lines while the lines and green areas in the fake stamps are made up of lines with many very small dots.
Revenue stamps sold during the past month. (Not my stamps)
3 Entertainment revenues of the 1949 third issue. The highest value in the set, the red 10 baht has a very nice part Trocadero Hotel cancel.
Sold on eBay for a low $7,77
The 40 baht value of the first Court Fee, Long Green revenue set in pair. Quite rare in pair. Sold on eBay for $60.
Alien Registration on a 4 Baht Waterlow & Sons printed Court Fee revenue. Date 1940? Sold on eBay for $28.
The past 25 years in Thailand revenue collecting, part 3.
The second series Entertainment Revenues 1947-1949 got more expensive.
25 years ago, these stamps, (besides the 10 baht which was always rare) sold for $1 per stamp. I just sold on eBay 5 of these stamps (pair of 10 satang, 25 satang and pair of 1 baht) for $100. This is an increase of 20X.

Booklet: Peter Collins, Thailand, the Waterlow Proof Sheets 1917-1960.
Previously, I posted from the booklet, Thailand, The Waterlow Proof Sheets 1917-1960 only the last part revenue section on my website. Now the complete booklet is on my website www.thailandrevenues.com
In this 68-page booklet, issued around 1985, Peter describes all the various proof and file sheets found in the Waterlow archives related to Thailand. It is essential reading to understand the various postal and revenue issues printed By Waterlow & Sons. Breaking up the sheets for sale, on the backside of many (not all) of the stamps was written a number with pencil. This number indicated from which sheet the stamps came from. This enables to collect proofs from the various printings.
The complete booklet, postal section and revenue section is now posted on this website and can be seen by clicking HERE.
Article: Peter Collins, Thailand, the Waterlow Proof Sheets 1917-1960. The Revenue Section, Illustrated with Actual Proof Stamps. By Jos Sanders.
